When choosing services for meetings and/or special events it is important to be sure you check references. When possible tour the facility you will be utilizing and have a checklist of questions prepared.

Ensuring a successful Oregon event requires careful planning and due diligence on the part of the planner. Oregon Event News features several venues and service providers that are both reputable and have established themselves as leaders in the meeting and event community. Below are a few tips for selecting event services:

1: Determine a budget.
2: Review how many guests will attend.
3: Will it be a catered event? Sit down meal or buffet style?
4: Will your guests need overnight accommodations?
5: Is there a guest speaker, band, DJ, or form of entertainment?
6: Does the venue have adequate capabilities for a sound system?
7: Will you need audio visual services and does the venue supply this?
8: Is there handicap access for those guests that may have special needs?
9: Is there ample parking?
10: Are there other fees associated with the rental or services?
11: check to see  if there are conflicting events on that date.
12.Secure your date.
13.Meet the planner that most venues provide before hand.
14.Will you need decor and is it provided?
15.Ask for references.

Having an event is a wonderful opportunity to bring people together for work or play. Ensuring it’s success depends on having a plan, creating a budget and establishing expectations from the very beginning.
